- SCHEDULING WORKS Your presence is the best way to ensure works performed are to your satisfaction, however if you’re unable to attend, label all trees to be removed & pruned to ensure accuracy. We require a non refundable 25% booking fee before works can be scheduled. Jobs rescheduled, delayed or cancelled within 5 working days incur a 25% admin fee (min $55) or within 1 working day a 50% fee. Note that although every effort is made to ensure otherwise, inclement weather & job variations may occasionally result in rescheduling of your works.
- PAYMENT Payment terms are strictly cash, cheque or credit card (add 1% fee) upon completion (unless a prior arrangement is made). Late payment WILL incur all collection costs plus a 2% per month penalty (compounding). Your quote is valid for 28 days (or phone for a confirmation or re-quote if longer). Please note that GST is usually itemised separately.
- ACCESS Clear site access is required to safely carry out your works. Access gates & doors must be left unlocked at scheduled time. Access to trees to be worked on & the immediate surrounding areas should be clear of obstacles, debris & animal droppings. This includes moving pot plants, outdoor furniture, small transplantable plants, piles of debris, etc. Also ensure pets & children are confined from the work-site. The clearer the site, the safer & more efficiently works can be done. Failure to comply may incur extra costs.
- PERMITS & NEIGHBORS The client is responsible to ensure all permit requirements & costs are met (although Aardvark may assist, please ask). We also suggested you inform your neighbors of works that may affect them, such as if trees overhanging boundaries are involved, if access to neighboring property may be required, or if noise, dust or vehicles may be an issue.
- WOODCHIP MULCH Although we sell woodchip mulch, those produced at your property are offered back free to use as garden mulch if requested, but can only be left where the truck can tip them on day of works. Research shows this type of mulch to be the best performing. Ask about the many benefits (water saving, weed & temp control, beneficial nutrients & microbes, etc).
- WOOD Log-wood (> 20-40cm diam.) is cross-cut to firewood (30-45cm lengths) this does not include splitting & is then left near the tree, or (at an extra cost) stacked on the nature strip for collection by the public (who have an insatiable desire for fire-wood!) Logwood removal can be arranged at an extra cost. It is ecologically & economically smarter to recycle!
- STUMPS Stump removal is an inherently hazardous operation involving powerful grinding machines. Stumps are ground only until roots remain (which may be limited by obstacles & size) to a max. of 30-50cm depth (depending on access, type of stump & machinery used). It is the responsibility of the client to locate & inform us of any objects that may be damaged by stump grinding (Water, Gas, Power, Phone, Drainage, Sprinklers, etc) & although all care is taken, no responsibility will be accepted for any such damages & associated costs. Try contacting local council & service providers for service locations. Other items that may be damaged by grinding or flying debris should be removed from grinding area or protected. This includes moving or covering vehicles, glass windows, etc. Stump grindings are always left on-site & can be composted, spread as mulch or (only upon request) removed at an extra cost. If replanting in the hole, you will very likely encounter residual stump & root material. Extra grinding may be done at an extra cost to cater for this, please ask as for details. It’s also advisable to replace grindings with topsoil where directly re-planting. Note- we cannot guarantee that some species will not re-grow, please ask if you would like us to advise you about this.
