| All staff are provided with written work orders & additionally verbally briefed with regard to each allocated job including any special requirements or safety issues. Each team carries both mobile phone & Melbourne wide two-way communications devices. |

Each project will have an individual job safety analysis (JSA) performed by the crew prior to works.
Work sites are set-up & signed by all staff & managed by a grounds person during all works, including allocating & marking safe zones around all work areas with an “exclusion” drop zones for tree debris, erection of any road signage required & safe work zones allocated for machinery operation. |

All tree pruning & tree removal works is carried out using industry-accepted rope & harness climbing techniques using Australian standards & rated life-line & life-support equipment.
All debris (limbs) requiring controlled decent to ground (if unable to safely drop into a controlled drop zone) is rope lowered also using industry accepted techniques. All tree cutting is carried out using handsaws & chainsaws & work practices that conform to Australian Standards. These techniques are all as taught by industry institutions such as (mainly) University of Melbourne (Burnley Horticultural College) & NMIT. Employees are trained in all aspects of field safety including aerial rescue techniques, first aid & accident management etc. |

| Stumps are ground using a portable stump-grinding machine (mounted on self propelled wheels) set up & used on site by experienced personal using manufacturers recommended instructions within the Australian Standards. The operators are trained in all aspects of safe operation including creating an exclusion zone around the work area, managing any possible flying debris, as well as personal safety such as hearing / eye / face & hand protection. |

All prunings are generally disposed of with the use of a portable wood-chipping machine set up & used on site by experienced personal using manufacturers recommended instructions within the Australian Standards. The operators are trained in all aspects of safe operation including creating an exclusion zone around the work area, managing any possible flying debris, as well as personal safety such as hearing / eye / face & hand protection.
The site is thoroughly raked & cleaned with “air blowers” & double checked to ensure all debris has been cleared from the site & that the area has been left in a safe condition before pack up & departure. |
